Video Type Questionnaire

In order to help me choose the right genre of music video to create, as well as researching the different type, I decided to get some input from my potential audience and devised a questionnaire that will help me establish not only what kind of music video to do but what is should contain.

Q1. What type of music do you listen to?
Pop             Indie            Rock           R&B            Classical               Rap

Q2. Do you often watch music videos?
Yes, all the time     Sometimes, if I really like the song      No, never

Q3. Do you prefer music videos with or without a story?

Q4. Do you think that a songs music video is important?

Q5. Do you feel that a songs storyline must be 100% reflective of the song’s lyrics?

Q6. Do you think an artist of a song should be featured in a music video?

“I think music videos these days aren’t focused enough around the actual song”
“Music videos are just about attracting an audience now and not telling a story”
“Artists don’t put enough effort into their videos, you can tell they had no involvement in it and just did a little bit of dancing”
 “Some music videos are too depressing, music is supposed to make you happy”
“Some videos are too focused on creating an in-depth story, they should be fun”
“Music videos should have a bit of everything, acting, storylines, and the band should be in it a little and it if possible dancing too”
